Travis Kelce Set to Make His Movie Producing Debut
film-producing debut is just around the corner! Yes, really.
Fresh off the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl LVIII win, the NFL tight end will mark his executive producer debut in March. An indie film titled My Dead Friend Zoe—starring Natalie Morales, Morgan Freeman, Ed Harris, and Sonequa Martin-Green—is set to premiere at the SXSW Conference on March 9 in Austin, Texas.
Although details about My Dead Friend Zoe are sparse, the film’s plot follows a female Afghanistan veteran “engaged in a mysterious relationship with her dead best friend from the Army” as she “comes head to head with her Vietnam vet grandfather at the family’s ancestral lake house,” per IMDb. Kyle Hausmann-Stokes directed the low-budget dark comedy
Sports fans worried about what Kelce’s foray into films means for the next NFL season can rest easy. The tight end has already shared that he will return for the 2024-25 season—along with head coach Andy Reid—to hopefully secure a three-peat at Super Bowl LVIIII. However, Kelce could very well be building a foundation for post-retirement plans down the line.
