Unlikely Chiefs player scores only touchdown of game as Mahomes and Kelce watch backups struggle
It was the first preseason game of the year and things did not go well for the team
It was not the best way to start the preseason for the Super Bowl champions, as injuries and a loss were part of a long afternoon in Jacksonville when the Kansas City Chiefs dropped the preparation game 26-13 against the Jaguars and Patrick Mahomes was left to watch.
Andy Reid’s team had many problems, with the first stringers and the rest of the players. After the first quarter, the Chiefs were down by a score of 7-3 and it all went downhill from there.
Thank you for watching
Marquise Brown caught a ball and after being tackled, he had a hard time trying to stand back up and trainers were needed. After a quick evaluation, it was determined that he was injured after a problem on his shoulder, and he did not returned to the game.
The end result was not ideal
The only touchdown of the game came after replacements conducted a long scoring drive in the second quarter. Running back Carson Steele scored on a one-yard touchdown run to finish off a 16-play 82-yard drive eating up 8:23 minutes of the clock.
Besides that, that was the only positive for the team, as the rest of the game was all for the home team. Jacksonville dominated the line of scrimmage and even if the first preseason was played, things were not good.
The team did not look good as the starters were kept in the bench most of the time as Mahomes, Travis Kelce and company were only left observing what happened on the field and now it is time to prepare for the next game.
