Travis Kelce’s Dad Rips Into Kanye West’s New Song That References Taylor Swift: ‘Mental Illness’
Travis Kelce’s dad, Ed Kelce, has taken a shot at Kanye West after the rapper’s new song included lyrics referencing his son’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift.
Ed made a scathing remark about the song in a post on his Facebook page, where he also tagged an article discussing the lyrics.
In the past, Kanye West referenced Taylor Swift in other songs, contributing to ongoing tension between the two.
Travis Kelce’s Dad Blasts Kanye West For Name-Dropping Taylor Swift In New Song
There seems to be no shortage of individuals in the Kelce family ready to defend themselves from perceived attacks by outsiders.
In this context, the family patriarch, Ed, has taken a swipe at rapper West after featured artist Lil Wayne mentioned Swift in the lyrics of his new track, “Lifestyle.”
Swift is currently dating Ed’s son Travis, who is the Kansas City Chiefs tight end.
Not only did Wayne name-drop Swift, but he also referenced Travis Kelce, rapping, “I twist my Taylor spliffs tight at the end like Travis Kelce.”
It seems the line didn’t sit well with Ed, who, on Facebook, seemingly made a brutal comment about West having “mental illness on full display.”
The statement from Ed seemed to allude to West’s history of being bipolar, an illness he has been open about in the past.
Ed Kelce Has Defended Taylor Swift And Travis Kelce From Critics In The Past
In February, Ed took to his Facebook account to call out “Real Housewives of New York City” star Bethenny Frankel for continuously mocking his son’s relationship with Swift.
Sharing a Newsweek article titled “Bethenny Frankel stands by her criticism of Travis Kelce,” Ed expressed his disdain for the reality TV star, questioning, “Who TF is this troll?”
Frankel’s remarks in the article included speculation on Swift and Kelce’s relationship longevity, suggesting that balancing fame and personal life could be challenging for the couple.
“When you get into real life and you get into kids and marriage and things like that… it’s not easy [and] relationships take work. And it’s hard because Taylor Swift is certainly a peacock,” Frankel said in the clip. “So they really usually can only be one peacock in a relationship.”
