Travis Kelce teams up with Patrick and Brittany Mahomes to cheer on
The trio took in the game after the Chiefs played the Lions in NFL preseason action
The stars were out for the Kansas City Current match on Saturday night, as Travis Kelce was joined by Patrick and Brittany Mahomes.
The trio were seen cheering in the stands as the Current took on Atletico de Madrid Femenino in The Women’s Cup. Patrick and Brittany are co-owners of the team.
The Currents’ official Instagram account posted photos of the three in the stands, who were joined by Chiefs center Creed Humphrey at the CPKC Stadium.
It proved to be a triumphant evening, as KC took home a 1-0 win to become tournament champions.
“Teal Town Red Kingdom. We had a few champions stop by to say hello,” the Current posted.
Kelce threw out a peace sign while wearing a Chiefs cap, while Patrick and Brittany were also seen wearing Chiefs gear.
Chiefs were in action earlier in the day
The outing came just hours after the Chiefs played the Detroit Lions in NFL preseason action. Unfortunately for KC fans, their team came up short, 24-23.
While the result likely won’t bother the Chiefs too much, the game didn’t make headlines thanks to a sensational play by Mahomes.
During the first quarter, Mahomes took a snap and was running to the right when he somehow managed to get the ball to Kelce with a behind-the-back pass. The play helped the Chiefs get the first down on what was a third-and-3.
However, Mahomes later told NFL Network that he delivered the pass out of spite.
“I didn’t do it to look cool,” Mahomes said, via Nate Taylor of TheAthletic.com.
“I literally did it as I was, like, pissed. I was like, ‘Why didn’t you run that route like that?’ It just worked out.”
