Travis Kelce takes a shot at Detroit fans with provocative pregame attire ahead of today’s game
The Kansas City Chiefs are seeking the first three-peat in NFL history

The NFL regular season is just three weeks away, kicking off with a highly anticipated matchup between the reigning champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, and the MVP, Lamar Jackson, and his Baltimore Ravens. The Chiefs are on the hunt to become the first team in history to achieve a three-peat, a feat that seven franchises have attempted before, but none have succeeded. Tonight, the Chiefs face the Detroit Lions in their second preseason game at Arrowhead Stadium. The Lions were last year’s breakout team, making it to the conference final for the first time since 1991, and they have no intention of slowing down this season.

Travis Kelce’s Subtle Jab?
For tonight’s game, star player Travis Kelce, who is also the boyfriend of superstar Taylor Swift if you didn’t know, arrived at the stadium wearing Chicago Bulls shorts. This choice of attire seemed to provoke Lions fans, sparking various reactions. Why the provocation? Die-hard sports fans in Detroit have a deep-seated hatred for Michael Jordan due to the intense rivalry between the Detroit Pistons and the Chicago Bulls in the 1980s. Just look at the evil look on Travis’s face as he turns to face the camera.

Although that rivalry between the Bulls and the “Bad Boy Pistons”-who won two NBA titles by eliminating Jordan-was a long time ago, Travis’s choice to wear the Bulls shorts, something he hadn’t done before, seems like a deliberate move. Both Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are expected to start today, but they will likely only play one or two offensive series. In the game against the Jaguars, Mahomes only threw four passes, and Kelce caught just one.

As for the regular season, the Chiefs are projected to secure their ninth consecutive AFC West title, just two shy of the New England Patriots’NFL record of 11. They are the clear favorites in their division, largely due to Mahomes’ impressive 30-5 record against AFC West rivals. If the Chiefs can secure home-field advantage in the highly competitive AFC, they will have a strong chance to achieve the first three-peat in NFL history. The Ravens, Bengals, Dolphins, and Texans are the top contenders in the AFC to challenge this historic run.
