Travis Kelce Rocks Funky Neutral Look as He Arrives in Jacksonville for the Chiefs’ Kickoff Preseason Game
“I’m gonna have fun with it,” the tight end has previously said of his bold personal style
The NFL preseason is finally underway — and Travis Kelce’s gameday style is as bold as ever!
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 34, arrived in Florida on Friday, Aug. 9 to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in a quintessentially Kelce ‘fit, including a button-down shirt in a patchwork print pattern.
While touching down in Jacksonville with his teammates — including quarterback Patrick Mahomes — Kelce paired the brown, patterned Perte D’ego top (which retails for $109) with a pair of tan trousers and matching Nike sneakers. The tight end elevated his gameday look further with some chic accessories.
The football star has rocked myriad facial hair looks throughout his career and, as he previously joked on an episode of his New Heights podcast with brother Jason Kelce, the ‘stache is specifically for when he doesn’t “have any paid appearances.”
Or, he joked, when “I’m not subject to doing anything where I have to team up with a company and look presentable.”
As the Chiefs returns to the field for the 2024-2025 season after winning their second Super Bowl in a row in February — and the team’s third in five years — it is only fitting that Kelce step back into his bold game day style.
While chatting about his style with WSJ Magazine last fall, Kelce labeled himself an “impulse shopper,” and admitted that he spends at least three hours picking out an outfit for his short commute to the locker room before each Chiefs game.
“It really just goes down to the wire,” he explained at the time, adding that he finds joy in “the creative process of the panic to just throw something together.”
The NFL star — who also has lots of stylish moments outside of the sport, especially with girlfriend Taylor Swift — also acknowledged that not everyone is going to be a fan of his more bold ensembles.
“Obviously, not every look is for everybody,” Kelce told WSJ Magazine, referencing online criticism of his looks. “I’m not going to be offended if somebody says I look like a clown if I got a fun hat on and some wacky jeans. It is what it is, I’m gonna have fun with it.”
Added Kelce: “For the most part, I do it to put a smile on somebody’s face.”
