Toni Braxton Says She Is Lucky To Be Alive After Near Heart Attack

Toni Braxton is letting her fans know that she is lucky to be alive. The singer said that she almost had a heart attack, but she was lucky that her sister Traci was watching over her. Toni said if it wasn’t for her sister, she would have died and wouldn’t be here today.

Toni Braxton just debuted on the premiere episode of The Braxtons, and she had a lot to say about recent health scares. It appears that Toni almost suffered a heart attack. She then said the one thing that helped her survive was her sister Traci, who died in 2022.

Traci Braxton died in 2022 at 50 of esophageal cancer. While she has been gone for two years now, her sister Toni Braxton feels she is still here as her guardian angel.

The premiere aired on August 9 on We TV. It saw Toni, 56, call her sisters and mother together for dinner. She had something to tell them, and Trina, 49, was worried. “The setting of her tone was very melancholy, and I’m really afraid because Toni had this health scare recently,” Trina said. She admitted that Toni is a recluse who dislikes letting people know about her health.

Toni, who was diagnosed with Lupus in 2007, had a big reason she wanted to bring her family together. It was about a health scare.

Toni Braxton Almost Suffered Heart Attack
“I know I have to tell the girls about a health scare, which makes me feel some kind of way because the last health scare we heard was Traci,” Toni said about the big dinner in The Braxtons premiere.

That is when Toni told her family she almost had a “widowmaker heart attack.” This is a heart attack that has full blockage in the heart’s biggest artery. It almost always results in death, hence the name. That is when Toni gave the good news. The doctors caught it before it happened.

“If I had a heart attack I wouldn’t have survived, I wouldn’t be here right now,” Toni said. She then broke down in tears and said she was alive because of her guardian angel, Traci. “They told me your sister was watching over you because they right, you should be dead today. You should not be alive.”

Toni said she will eventually need bypass surgery despite having a stint in her heart. Unfortunately, the doctors told her she might never be able to tour again.

“They say you may never be able to do another tour because you could have a heart attack.”

Toni said all she could think about was her boys, Denim and Diezel Braxton-Lewis, and it was all “real life.”
