Taylor Swift’s childhood friend Abigail, who is famously referenced in ‘Fifteen,’ welcomes baby
Taylor Swift’s childhood best friend, Abigail Anderson Berard, just became a mom!
Anderson Berard, who Swift wrote about on her 2008 coming-of-age song “Fifteen,” announced Aug. 16 on Instagram that she and husband Charles Berard welcomed their first child, a son named Bennett.
“Baby boy decided to join us a few weeks earlier than expected. Our hearts are exploding with love. Welcome to the world Bennett, it’s entirely yours,” she wrote alongside a photo of the newborn’s fingers grasped around one of his parents’ fingers.
Anderson Berard shared the same image in her Instagram story.
The couple’s baby news comes less than month after Anderson Berard announced she was pregnant in a hilarious Instagram post.
“I’m having his babyyyy…” she wrote, quoting from Swift’s song “But Daddy I Love Him,” next to a pic of herself showing off her baby bump while eating from a box of Cheez-Its.
Swift congratulated her longtime bestie in the comments of her announcement, writing, “When the internet says ‘MOTHER’ I feel like this pic is actually what they mean.”
Swift’s A-list pals Blake Lively and Keleigh Teller also posted congratulatory remarks at the time.
While Swift hasn’t yet shared her congrats on Anderson Berard’s new baby announcement, several other famous folks have already chimed in with their support.
“Welcome Bennett!!!! Good job mama:)” wrote fashion model Gigi Hadid, who’s previously appeared in photos on Anderson Berard’s Instagram page.
“Sending so much love & congratulations,” added model Lily Aldridge along with a row of heart emoji.
Swift documented her burgeoning teenage friendship with Anderson Berard in the lyrics of “Fifteen.” The song first appeared on Swift’s 2008 second studio album “Fearless,” and was later re-recorded for 2021’s “Fearless (Taylor’s Version).” Anderson Berard also appears in the song’s official video.
“You sit in class next to a redhead named Abigail / And soon enough you’re best friends / Laughing at the other girls / Who think they’re so cool / We’ll be out of here as soon as we can,” Swift sings.
