Taylor Swift surprises with sense of humor and playful gesture at Eras Tour in Germany
A totally spontaneous moment
On the second night of her highly anticipated Eras Tour in Gelsenkirchen, Germany,Taylor Swift blew fans away not only with her spectacular show but also with her sense of humor. With the Veltins Arena filled to capacity, the 34-year-old pop star put on a show that combined her impressive repertoire with unexpected moments that delighted her fans.
One of those highlights came during the performance of “Midnight Rain”. Known for her seriousness, Swift surprised everyone by joking after the line “he never thinks about me / except when I’m on TV.” In a playful gesture, she stuck out her tongue and flashed a double peace sign, eliciting laughter and applause from the audience. A spontaneous moment that thrilled her fans.
Thursday’s show also featured Swift’s boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. He attended the July 17-18 concerts before returning to Missouri for his team’s training camp. This unconditional support from Travis for Swift solidifies their relationship that makes them a favorite couple for many.
In addition to her performances, the city of Gelsenkirchen joined in celebrating the superstar. In an unprecedented gesture, the city was temporarily renamed “Swiftkirchen” after a successful petition from a local fan. The city also dedicated a stone on its Walk of Fame to Swift, breaking its tradition of honoring only local personalities. However, this colorful tile will be replaced with a blank one once Swift concludes her performances in the city, becoming a temporary treasure for fans.
Swift will continue her tour in Germany, with upcoming concerts in Hamburg on July 23 and 24, and Munich on July 27 and 28. The European leg of the Eras Tour will culminate in August with five nights at Wembley Stadium in London, promising a spectacular close to this leg of the tour.
