Taylor Swift lookalike earns reputation for rendition of pop icon’s music at this New England park
June (Taylor’s Version) is in her tribute era, and the internet is taking notice!
A Taylor Swift lookalike is gaining a reputation for her spot-on tribute to the music of Taylor Swift.
And the internet is taking notice.
“It’s been overwhelmingly positive,” said June (Taylor’s Version), from her dressing room at Canobie Lake Park in Salem, New Hampshire. “And I’m so humbled by that.”
June, lyrically inspired by Swift for her stage name, is dressed in a fiery sequin body suit ahead of her second of three performances for the day. She and her four backup dancers have been delighting audiences this sweltering summer with their live Tribute to the Music of Taylor Swift concert shows. Six days a week from June through September, the pop icon comes to life with June’s spot-on vocals, dance moves and overall uncanny Swiftiness.
“I can’t believe how many people from literally all over the world have been reaching out in response to it,” she said. “I’m just humbled and honored.”
Fifteen minutes till showtime, June touches up her red lipstick and fluffs her blonde bangs before heading to the stage. Her height and blue contact lenses seal the deal.
Dancers take the stage, lights flash, and June steps out onto the Midway Stage, starting the performance with Taylor Swift’s “Cruel Summer.”
“I have a profound respect for her work ethic and what it takes to bring a three-hour show around the world. Like, that’s incredible anyway! I already knew that as a former performer myself,” she said. “But even just doing a tiny piece of it three times a day, six days a week – in this heat? It’s so impressive to me what she can do every single day and the joy she brings people.”
She likes the work and wants to continue for as long as she can and as long as she’s respecting the artist’s work. But she has other goals for the future, too.
“I would love to publish a trilogy!” she said. “The dream is to publish a fantasy series. Something Swifties, who love, like, the clues and puzzles and Easter eggs, would love. And then turn that into either a film or television series.”
Between shows and Princess Juniper’s adventures in the land of TikTok, June is writing and trying to hone all of her crafts, all while delighting audiences.
For her, this has been anything but a cruel summer.
“The biggest thing I’d ever want to say to her is thank you!” she said of the pop star. “Thank you for sharing everything you do with your fans. Because she’s incredible.”
The Tribute to Taylor Swift runs through Sept. 2. Showtimes are Sunday through Thursday: 11:30 a.m., 2 p.m., and 6:30 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays at 1 p.m., 5 p.m., and 9 p.m.
