Taylor Swift is ‘gearing up to release her debut novel’ as she wraps the European leg of her mammoth Eras tour after sitting on the project for almost a decade
She just wrapped up the European leg of her Eras tour.
However, it appears Taylor, 34, will not be slowing down or taking a break any time soon as she is reportedly writing a novel.
The book, titled A Girl Called Girl, was written by the singer when she was just a teenager and it follows the story of a mother who wanted a son instead of a daughter.
While Taylor was just 14 when she wrote the story, it has never seen the light of day and the draft was previously believed to be in the care of her parents.
The star has since trademarked the name and rights to her debut novel, however, it’s not the first time she has trademarked the book.
In 2015 she secured the rights to the name for the very first time, and after sitting on the project for almost a decade, it seems fans could now be one step closer to getting their Swiftie hands on it.
According to The Sun, the new trademark covers merchandise for the book, as well as audio versions, so it appears Taylor is gearing up to release her novel to the world.
MailOnline has contacted Taylor’s representative for comment.
She previously revealed she started writing the book before her music career really took off.
She explained during her tour in 2012 that all of her friends were back in Pennsylvania at the time so she had ‘nothing to do’.
She told fans at the time: ‘All my friends were back in Pennsylvania, so I had nothing to do.’
‘I had this epiphany; I’m going to be a novelist and I’m going to write novels. That’s going to be my career path.’
Taylor will continue her tour in November with her first stop in Toronto on November 14 before heading to Vancouver on December 06 for a string of shows.
