Serena Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian recently expressed his delight at Angel City FC star Alyssa Thompson crediting teammate Christen Press for her recent phenomenal streak. Thompson highlighted Press’ exceptional mentorship, acknowledging her invaluable guidance.
The 19-year-old has been displaying electrifying performances in the past few matches this season. She scored her first two goals of the season against San Diego Wave, helping the team to earn a 2-1 victory. The Angel City FC forward was named in the NWSL Team of the Month for the first time for August 2024 on September 6, 2024.In an interview with ION, Thompson praised and acknowledged Press’ guidance. She lauded Press’ significant role as a mentor and teammate.
“I think Christen Press has been a huge help for me this season,” Thompson said. “She is really kind of taking me under her wing and just has been an amazing teammate and a mentor. I think her…just like…her energy has really helped me and I think that’s helped me alot like coming into these few games.”
