Queen Camilla ‘attacked by ghost’ at haunted mansion in Allington
Even their dog would avoid certain rooms
Queen Camilla’s past took a spooky turn recently when her son, Tom Parker-Bowles, revealed some chilling details about their childhood home. Parker-Bowles shared that when he and his sister were young, they grew up in a mansion in Allington, Wiltshire, with their parents, Camilla and Andrew Parker-Bowles, which was believed to be haunted.
The house had so many ghostly encounters that even their dog would avoid certain rooms, which were said to have an unsettling, constant chill.
“My mother says she woke up one night, in the middle of the night, and there was a presence sort of pinning her down in her bed,” Parker-Bowles told Gyles Brandreth’s “Rosebud” podcast.
“This was many, many years ago, but she’s made of pretty strong stuff so probably told the ghost where to go.
“There were lots of people who were very rational people, who in the middle of the night would jump in their car and drive back to London because something had got in their bed, and it was a spirit.
“We would hear stories of banquets going on downstairs that people would hear, but there was nothing there, there were rooms the dogs wouldn’t go into, it was quite a big old manor house, and rooms that we ran past. As a child you would build up a fear of these rooms. It was always cold, even in the middle of summer.”
Strong relationship with Camilla
Parker-Bowles, who maintains a strong relationship with his mother, reflected on their unique upbringing and continues to show unwavering support for her, especially since she married King Charles III in 2005.
He notably came to her defense earlier this year when Prince Harry referred to Camilla as a “villain” in his memoir Spare. As for his stepfather, Tom also spoke highly of King Charles III, expressing confidence that he would seamlessly step into his role as monarch.
