Prince Harry will not meet with his father King Charles during his trip to the U.K., PEOPLE confirms.
A spokesperson for the Duke of Sussex, 39, says, “In response to the many inquiries and continued speculation on whether or not The Duke will meet with his father while in the U.K. this week, it unfortunately will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full program. The Duke of course is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon.”
King Charles, 75, recently resumed public royal duties after working mainly behind the scenes for several months amid his cancer diagnosis and treatment. On May 7, the monarch held an audience at Buckingham Palace, welcoming the Prime Minister of Fiji, Sitiveni Rabuka. Buckingham Palace is also set to host the first garden party of the season on May 8, although it’s unknown which members of the royal family are attending.

Prince Harry will not meet with his father King Charles during his trip to the U.K., PEOPLE confirms.

King Charles, 75, recently resumed public royal duties after working mainly behind the scenes for several months amid his cancer diagnosis and treatment. Prince Harry returned to his home country for celebrations surrounding the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, which had its inaugural competition for wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans 10 years ago in London. The anniversary is being marked with a panel on Tuesday and a service at St. Paul’s Cathedral on Wednesday, where Harry will give a reading and Homeland actor Damian Lewis will recite the Invictus poem. (The writer of the poem, William Henley, is commemorated with a memorial bust in the Crypt of the cathedral.)
