According to another tell-all book, Meghan was close to dumping Prince Harry
Imagine what would’ve happened if Meghan Markle dumped Prince Harry way back when they were only starting to date. The then actress was beginning to experience the pressure that came with dating a senior member of the Royal Family. All the scrutiny involved with it and all the bashing from the British tabloids.
There was a moment in which Meghan likely thought the risk wasn’t worth the reward, she even reportedly gave Prince Harry an ultimatum that sent him on a negative spiral. As more and more books from the Royals keep coming out, there are many details that are worth visiting from an outside perspective.
Meghan Markle’s ultimatum againt Prince Harry
When the relationship was already starting to spill onto the tabloids, Prince Harry faced an incredibly difficult choice. The Times published a passage of a book from author Valentine Low, who wrote ‘Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown’. This details the allaged threat from Meghan to Prince Harry about their relationship.
Here’s what Low writes: “A source said: ‘She was saying, ‘If you don’t put out a statement confirming I’m your girlfriend, I’m going to break up with you’. Harry was in a panic’. Another source said: ‘He was freaking out, saying, ‘She’s going to dump me’.'”
Freaking out about the possibility of getting dumped by Meghan Markle didn’t register well on Prince Harry’s mind. He was already head over heels for her at the time and he was willing to do anything to keep his relationship with her. Many years after this happened, the married-with-kids couple has even moved to the United States and Harry is practicaly estranged from the Royal Family.
