Prince Harry will return to the UK for the first time in almost a month

Prince Harry is set for a rare appearance in his home nation as he returns to the United Kingdom as a guest of honor at the annual WellChild Awards, set to be hosted from Monday, September 30 but will he see his family?

The Duke of Sussex has not only been estranged from his family since 2020/21 but he has also been locked in a battle surrounding private security costs and privileges, which British courts initially tried to deny him.

But the 40-year-old finally got the right to fund security meaning he can make more appearances in the UK with his family, knowing he should be safe, with the first being in London for the charity event.

Despite stepping down as a working royal in 2020, the WellChild charity is one of the few bodies he has remained a patron of as they aim to help critically-ill children enjoy a better quality of life and the man fifth-in-line to the throne described it as an ‘honor’ to be a part of the event.

“I am once again honored to attend this year’s WellChild Awards,” Prince Harry said in a statement. “Celebrating the remarkable courage and achievements of children living with complex medical needs.

“These incredible young people, along with the dedicated caregivers, nurses, and professionals who tirelessly support them, inspire us all. It is a true privilege to recognize such extraordinary individuals.”

Prince Harry and Prince William set to collide
Prince Harry last appeared in the United Kingdom for the funeral of his uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes, on August 29 where he experienced a tense atmosphere with his brother as the pair chose to avoid interacting.

The Duke of Sussex and his older brother have been locked in a feud, apparently since early childhood according to Harry’s 2023 memoir, Spare. It reportedly only got worse once Meghan Markle entered the picture and they made their decisions to step down as working members of the family.

Now they are not on speaking terms and Prince William, next in-line, is attempting to freeze his younger sibling out from ever rejoining but they could be thrust face-to-face in New York City in late September.

Prince Harry is booked to appear at the United Nations General Assembly and Climate Week between September 22-29, whilst Prince William will be in the Big Apple for the Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit at Manhattan’s Plaza Hotel on September 24.
