Patrick Mahomes Says Travis Kelce Grew Out His Hair Because of Tay…see more
“I’ve been trying to get him to grow his hair out and all of a sudden Taylor gets him to do it,” said Mahomes
Taylor Swift is Travis Kelce’s girlfriend and style influencer, according to Patrick Mahomes.
While chatting with SiriusXM NFL Radio (Ch. 88) for a special town hall on Tuesday, Aug. 13, Mahomes, 28, quipped that his Kansas City Chiefs teammate, 34, has grown out his hair because of his superstar girlfriend, also 34.
“I’ve been trying to get him to grow his hair out and all of a sudden Taylor gets him to do it,” Mahomes said about the NFL tight end.
Kelce rocked a buzz cut for most of the summer until returning to training camp in late July.
While Swift is a fan of Kelce’s new look, his barber, Patrick Regan, previously told Fox News that Swift has also complimented his shorter hairdo.
“Taylor loves the haircut. She has watched me cut his hair a bunch of times and always compliments it after,” said Regan in February. Kelce has also not been afraid to experiment with his wardrobe.
After rocking a series of memorable gameday looks last NFL season, his mom, Donna Kelce, shared on The Martha Stewart Podcast that he’s always been a “fashionista,” noting that his “image” and what he looks like is “very important” to him.
“But not so much to be perfect,” she said during an appearance on the podcast in May. “It’s more to put a smile on people’s faces. At times, I mean, he’ll dress the way he needs to, but most of the time, he’s doing it to make people laugh or talk. And he loves being at the center of attention, which we all know that.”
The Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? host has admitted to being his own worst critic on and off the field.
“I’m my worst critic. Nobody can tell me how bad I did on a play, I know it right away, as soon as the play got over with. I know what I need to do to get better and everything,” he said while speaking with reporters in July.
“It’s just — you have to have that certain mentality. Always finding ways to get better, even when you have success on a play,” he added.
