Meghan Markle’s cyberbullying experience helps her at summit in Colombia
The long-waited visit by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to Colombia has paid off in a big way, as education on important matters is key and they are providing it. They both were part of a summit in which they joined a panel of discussion on Responsible Digital Future.
The event that was held in a highly praised university in Bogota, had the Duke and Duchess of Sussex speaking and how can the students and society in general prevent bad behaviors online and produce correct paths to a correct usage of the digital world.
They both spoke about the need to prioritize humanity and connection over an unsafe digital landscape. “We should model how we want our kids to be raised and for the world in which we raise them. It doesn’t matter where you live. It doesn’t matter who you are. Either you personally or someone you know is a victim to what’s happening online. And that’s something we can actively work on every day to remedy,” she said, referring to a well know cyberbullying issue she has had to fight for a long time.

Prince Harry was also vocal
Prince Harry spoke on the matter as well, touching the delicate subject that can determine the future of the world. “With the Archewell Foundation, me and my wife believe that information integrity is a fundamental right,” he said.
On the panel alongside the royal couple, was Colombia Vice President Francia Marquez and co-founder and CEO of Rappler and Nobel Peace Laureate Maria Ressa, as they also talked the about the importance of education while using the digital tools.
On Thursday afternoon, Meghan Markle and Vice President Marquez joined in the dancing at the end of a cultural event which showcased many artist that study and work at the National Arts Center of Bogota, as Prince Harry and the Duchess greeted all the performers.
