Kate Middleton breaks long-standing birthday tradition yet again with Prince George
Prince George, the oldest child of the Prince and Princess of Wales, turns 11 today – and it seems they have decided to go against a previously held birthday tradition – just like they did for their other two children
There will be big celebrations in the household of the Prince and Princess of Wales today as Prince George turns 11.
Their eldest child and second-in-line to the throne celebrates his birthday today and royal fans have been looking forward to the annual birthday photo the family release him that’s nearly always released on his special day. However, so far no photo has been released so far in a break of tradition that also happened when Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis had their birthdays earlier this year.
Usually, the couple release images for their children’s birthdays under embargo the day before the big day, in what was previously a long-standing pattern. However earlier this year when Louis turned six and Charlotte became nine, new snaps of them were posted straight to social media on their actual birthdays instead.
So far, no new picture of George has been forthcoming, showing the couple don’t intend to revert to their usual tradition. However, just like with their younger children, it could be that a new snap of George is posted to social media on her actual birthday later today. It is understood the process has been changed due to the unprecedented time the family is experiencing. William and Kate are said to be aware of the fact that they have asked for privacy after the princess revealed her cancer diagnosis.
