Naturally, fans have taken to blaming the slump on his multi-platinum pop superstar girlfriend, Taylor Swift, his relationship with whom has become a favorite point of discussion. But JJ Watt has implored them to stop it.He said on The Pat McAfee Show:
“Your stats are going to start to go down, like you can’t do it until you’re 45 years old, especially at a position like that. So, I mean, we can’t analyze every single week like, ‘Oh my gosh, is he?’ Yeah, at some point, you do start to slow down.
“And people don’t need to find something to blame it on, on his off season, or on his girlfriend, or on whatever it may be. Football is football, man. It’s hard; and as you get a little older, it gets a little more difficult.”
