Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds Joke About Taylor Swift and Blake Lively’s Fame When Asked About the Chiefs (Exclusive)
The actors also tell PEOPLE whether they’ll attend another NFL game with Lively and Swift, who is dating tight end Travis Kelce
With Taylor Swift and Blake Lively in their “glittering prime,” it can be difficult to be the center of attention when they’re at the same event as you — just ask Deadpool & Wolverine stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman.
At the world premiere of Marvel Studios’ Deadpool & Wolverine in New York City on Monday, July 22, the film’s titular stars expressed to PEOPLE just how famous Swift, 34, and Lively, 36, really are.
“If you ever really want to kinda not feel great about your career, go to [an NFL] game with Taylor Swift and Blake Lively — and then you’re Blake Lively, Taylor Swift and others at the game,” Jackman, 55, quips on the red carpet to PEOPLE. Reynolds, 47, agreed and reiterated, “We’re just and others.”
The acting duo, Swift and Lively, who is married to Reynolds, famously attended the Kansas City Chiefs game on Oct. 1, 2023, to cheer on the team and Swift’s tight end boyfriend, Travis Kelce, 34.
Asked whether they’ll attend another game, Jackman replies, “Oh, I hope so,” while Reynolds says, “You don’t say no to that.”
Swift, a 14-time Grammy winner, memorably received an enormous amount of attention throughout this past NFL season when she attended 13 Chiefs games to cheer on her NFL boyfriend, who has in return attended 14 of her Eras Tour shows. They even kissed after the Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory in February.
Lively and Swift, who have been close friends since 2015, stood beside each other during the Super Bowl as well as the Oct. 1 Chiefs vs. Jets game, where Jackman and Reynolds were photographed with them.
In 2022, Reynolds admitted that he, Lively and their kids are “obsessed” with Swift — and for good reason.
Swift included their daughter James’ voice on 2017’s Reputation track “Gorgeous” and then shouted out James and the couple’s other daughters, Inez and Betty, on her 2020 folklore track “Betty.”
