Coco Gauff and Naomi Osaka Cherish a Fun Detour as Iconic Landscapes Become the Perfect Launchpad Ahead of the China Open
Exploring new places worldwide is one of the unique perks of being a tennis player. Notably, Coco Gauff and Naomi Osaka are preparing for their participation in the China Open. They took a well-deserved break from intense practice sessions to explore the iconic Great Wall of China.
In a recent video that she posted, Coco Gauff captured the amazing vistas and gave her fans a peek at her journey to the Great Wall of China. Gauff highlighted the stunning scenery and her stylish New Balance outfit in the movie.
Taking part in the fun, Naomi Osaka posted a video of her trip to the Great Wall of China on TikTok. In contrast to Coco Gauff, Osaka went above and beyond the adventure by taking a beautiful ride along the wall. The player documented her happiness in a cheerful, joyous film. Moreover, fans got to see her lighthearted side in the clip, which included her contagious smile as she welcomed the experience.
Fans eagerly anticipate Naomi Osaka’s fourth main draw debut at this year’s China Open. Simply because of her remarkable victory in the tournament back in 2019. Her return to competitive tennis is highly anticipated and significant. This time, though, it’s especially symbolic because it will be her first performance in Beijing, as a mother.
Former world No. 1 Naomi Osaka had trouble finding her form before leaving for Asia. She only made it to the second round of the US Open and Toronto Open qualifying, and she was eliminated in the Cincinnati qualifying rounds. Osaka defeated Jelena Ostapenko in her opening round in New York, but she struggled in her subsequent match and lost in straight sets against Karolina Muchova.
The 26-year-old expressed her disappointment, admitting, “It’s a little rough because I take these losses personally… it feels like my heart dies every time I lose.” Osaka has performed well in Beijing in the past, making it to the quarterfinals in 2018 and taking home the championship in 2019.
Conversely, Coco Gauff is having an absolute blast in China, both on and off the court. She recently made headlines when, during a fan interaction, she signed the most costly item to date, creating an internet sensation that went viral.
