Arrowhead Stadium might be home for Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his family — but it’s not where his wife Brittany’s heart is.

Brittany has created a new narrative around NFL facilities and accommodations in light of her praise for another local sports venue, ensuring she stays in the news cycle as the 2024 season begins — and amid her vocal support for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

Brittany sings KC Current praises amid Chiefs’ low grades

Brittany and Patrick have an ownership stake in NWSL franchise KC Current, which plays at the 11,500-seat CPKC Stadium — located roughly 20 minutes northwest of the Chiefs’ Arrowhead Stadium. In a post uploaded to Instagram Stories, Brittany remarked on the atmosphere at CPKC Stadium during KC Current’s 1-0 victory over Utah Royals FC on Saturday.

“I have never been to a stadium that has better food than we do at CPKC Stadium,” Brittany wrote. “And I’m gonna need some more of those apple pies.”

Although Arrowhead and the NFL are not directly implicated, it is telling that Brittany has taken this extra step to commend CPKC Stadium staff — and the KC Current — for the amenities they are providing. It is in contrast to the uncertain future at Arrowhead Stadium, which the Chiefs have called home for more than 50 years.

The Chiefs are exploring a move away from Arrowhead, amid questions over owner Clark Hunt’s willingness to commit financially to the franchise. Hunt has been ranked by the NFL Players Association as among the worst owners in the sport, and Kansas City’s players have criticized the team’s outdated facilities — even as they pursue a historic Super Bowl three-peat.
