Bizarre reason Kate Middleton now sounds ‘posher than her husband’ revealed A royal commentator has claimed that Kate Middleton sounds much “posher” than her husband, Prince William because part of Kate’s transformation involved “several rounds of elocution lessons”

According to one royal commentator, Kate Middleton sounds much more posh than Prince William.

In his book, Endgam: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarch’s Fight for Survival, Royal commentator Omid Scobie details the Princess of Wales ‘ journey from a student to becoming a princess. The author remembers when William and Kate met at the University of St Andrews in 2001 where William studied geography while Kate, then known as Kate Middleton, studied art history. The couple tied the knot ten years later at Westminster Abbey and are now proud parents to three children – Prince George , Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis .

The couple, who also lived together during university with two other friends, graduated together. Other than a short break up between April and July of 2007, the couple have been together since. In his book, Scobie describes the Princess of Wales as an “institutional dream come true.” He suggests that she has managed to transform herself into an enigma to fit her Royal role, possibly even to herself.

The Princess of Wales’ “received pronunciation” accent is not surprising considering her upbringing and private schooling, but the former Duchess of Cambridge reportedly had some help with perfecting it. According to the author, part of Kate’s transformation involved “several rounds of elocution lessons”, which have resulted in her sounding posher than her husband. The RP accent is used by the Royal Family, you may have also heard it in the popular Netflox show The Crown, it’s also known as Queen’s English or BBC English. It’s an accent that is considered posh and is and is traditionally associated with the middle and upper classes and public school education.

Scobie also reveals that Kate has had “five or six private secretaries” over the years. One of them reportedly described the job as “uninspiring and frustrating.” The book also delves into the Princess’ relationship with Meghan Markle , wife of her brother-in-law. Scobie alleges that Kate can be “cold if she doesn’t like someone” and suggests that “she wasn’t a fan” of Meghan. According to Scobie’s source: “Kate spent more time talking about Meghan than chatting with her,” Scobie added that Kate “jokingly shivered when Meghan’s name was mentioned.” Prince Harry’ s memoir, Spare, also hints at this tension. He wrote that Meghan was “on edge” knowing she would be “compared to, and forced to compete with Diana.”
