Analysts Predict Perfect Timing as Tyreek Hill Nears Potential Reunion with Patrick Mahomes…More details
The Kansas City Chiefs’ shaky start to the season has prompted the front office to enter a state of panic.
After a 0-2 start and a tough win over the New York Giants in Week 3, it’s clear the team is desperately in need of reinforcements, enough to consider the return of the controversial wide receiver
This isn’t the first time experts have speculated about a possible reunion between Hill and Patrick Mahomes with the Chiefs.
Every time the team loses a receiver, as happened last season with Rashee Rice’s injury and this year with Xavier Worthy’s loss, fans and media begin to analyze the possibility of the Cheetah’s return.
In recent weeks, however, speculation has gained momentum for two reasons: the Pittsburgh Steelers’ loss of interest in Hill, and the 0-3 record that could force the Miami Dolphins to begin a rebuilding process now.
Until a few months ago, some insiders claimed the Steelers were interested in a trade with the Dolphins for Tyreek Hill. However, since the controversial receiver is once again at the center of an NFL investigation for domestic violence, head coach Mike Tomlin’s interest has cooled.
With three losses to start the season, Miami is in a hard spot. As Fansided analyst Cody Williams pointed out, it would be better for the Dolphins to trade Hill now.
That way, they could get compensation for him, rather than simply cutting him at the end of the season due to his constant scandals.
For the Chiefs, Hill represents immediate relief from their woes in the passing game. With Worthy sidelined indefinitely with a shoulder injury and Rice suspended for last year’s car accident, the team’s roster looks somewhat thin at the receiver slot.
