Travis Kelce Admits Marrying Taylor Swift Is a Bad Idea, Says Proposal Was Forced and Filled With Red Flags

Travis Kelce Admits Marrying Taylor Swift Is a Bad Idea, Says Proposal Was Forced and Filled With Red Flags.
On the Sept. 3 episode of his New Heights podcast, the 35-year-old NFL star shared his thoughts on asking your significant other to marry you one week after he and fiancée, Taylor Swift, announce their engagement.
Kelce got down on one knee to the “So High School” singer in a rose and floral-filled garden in his own Kansas City backyard, sharing the romantic photos on Instagram.
“Man, you’ve gotta know your gal. You’ve gotta know your gal or your significant other. You’ve gotta know them,” Kelce shared when asked for advice. “You can’t let how somebody else does it make you feel like you need to do it that way.”
Travis’ older brother, Jason Kelce, adamantly agreed with him, adding, “You can’t read about it in a Cosmopolitan magazine and expect they’re gonna know your person. You gotta know your person.”
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end replied, “You might be able to get some ideas from how other people did it,” but Jason, 37, who married Kylie Kelce in 2018, disagreed, saying, “F— that, f— those other people.”
“Yeah, I hear you. It might get the creative juices going,” Travis clarified. “I would just say know your partner, know who you’re doing it for and do it for the right reasons and everything else will be beautiful.”
Later in the episode, the brothers announced that their producer Brandon Borders, who they refer to as “Intern Brandon” had also recently gotten engaged, popping the question on one knee in the ocean.
“I once thought I would do it on water, but you did it,” Travis shared.
“Holding the ring while kicking your little feet, trying to fight the current, terrible idea, don’t recommend it,” Brandon quipped during the episode. “That’s my advice if you’re popping the question. That’s the most athletic thing I’ve ever done in my life.”
