After a tumultuous start to the season, Kansas City Chiefs starting tight end Travis Kelce broke the franchise record for most receptions on Sunday afternoon while playing against the Los Angeles Chargers.

The turnaround for Kelce is coming just in time for fans who were close to giving up on the veteran tight end.

During the first half of Sunday’s game, Kelce recorded five receptions for 74 yards.

The 34-year-old out of the University of Cincinnati was drafted in the third round No. 66 overall to the Chiefs in the 2013 NFL Draft.

Throughout his career with the Chiefs, Kelce has averaged 70 yards per game, amassing a total of 915 receptions over 12 years.

The tight end has raised concerns this season with a slow start, averaging just under nine yards per reception and yet to score a touchdown over three and a half games.
