On September 27, her university’s track and field Instagram handle wrote, “Cal Poly Athletics was deeply saddened to learn of the recent passing of former Cal Poly student-athlete Shelby Daniele.” As per the update, Shelby graduated with distinction, was a six-time All-Big West honoree, a team captain, and a two-time Big West champion, among other accolades.
