Jackson Mahomes does what Patrick Mahomes can’t and supports their mother Randi in her time of need

Patrick Mahomes continues to star on the gridiron for the Kansas City Chiefs, but fans remain concerned over Mahomes’ family. Specifically, there are worries over Patrick’s maternal grandfather Randy, who was recently hospitalized amid a health emergency.

Randi Mahomes — the mother of Patrick and Jackson Mahomes — has been going through a bit of a rough time given her father’s health. But while Patrick is busy preparing the Chiefs to take on the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday afternoon, Jackson this weekend stepped up in his place to spend some quality time with mom.

Jackson and Randi have an “awesome” day

Jackson took to Instagram to share a photo with Randi at the headquarters of Variety KC — a nonprofit children’s charity that has been helping local kids with disabilities for eight decades. Jackson captioned the photo, “had an awesome day getting to support what my mom loves the most.”

The outing at Variety KC is a positive step forward for Jackson as he supports his family and tries to rehabilitate his reputation as Patrick’s troubled little brother. Last May, Jackson was arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated sexual battery in addition to one of battery in Johnson County, Missouri. He was later sentenced to six months of unsupervised probation, but his reputation as a cringy internet personality was most recently propagated by ex-NFL receiver Antonio Brown — who has a wide following on social media.

As for Patrick, his dedication to Randi is well-documented, but he had another appointment this weekend with Joe Burrow and the Bengals coming to Arrowhead Stadium for the latest installment of this AFC rivalry. And as he turned up to the stadium Sunday afternoon, you can bet Randi and Randy were in his thoughts entering the vital matchup with Cincinnati.
