King Charles and Queen Camilla Will “Continue to Offer All Love, Thoughts and Support” to Kate Middleton
Buckingham Palace released a statement following a new video announcing the end of Kate’s chemotherapy treatment.
It’s a long awaited day for fans of the royal family, as Kensington Palace has confirmed that Kate Middleton has finished her chemotherapy treatment. The Princess of Wales, who was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer earlier this year, shared the news along with her thoughts and feelings about her cancer journey in a new video.
Following the video’s release, there has been a wave of well-wishes from around the world as well as from within the royal family itself. Buckingham Palace provided a statement conveying King Charles’s feelings on the news, saying the announcement is “wonderful news” adding that the King and his wife Camilla “will continue to offer all love, thoughts and support to The Princess on her continued path to full recovery.”
Charles himself, who marks two years on the throne this week, was diagnosed with cancer early this year (he, also, has chosen not to disclose what type of cancer) though he was able to return to royal duties in the spring. Kate is a expected to take on a “light” workload between now and the end of the year, explaining in the video, “Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes. I am however looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can.”
Despite his ongoing roster of duties, Charles’s health, like Kate’s, has remained forefront for the royals this year, with plans being scrapped for a trip to New Zealand this fall following his visit to Australia and Samoa on doctors’ advice. “The Queen wants him to slow down quite a lot,” royal author Robert Jobson told T&C perviously. “I don’t think we’re going to see that.”
