A social media influencer who recently attended one of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour shows despite not being a “swifty” is facing backlash online from fans of the pop superstar—many who noted that tons of Swift’s diehard fans were unable to secure tickets of their own to the hit international tour.
British TV personality Louise Thompson was upfront about her lack of knowledge about the fandom surrounding the 14-time Grammy Award winner as she reflected on her Tuesday, Aug. 20, concert experience at Wembley Stadium in London, England. Right off the bat, Thompson admitted while sharing photos from the concert on Instagram that she is “NOT a swifty ‼️.”
The Made in Chelsea star explained to her social media followers that she “wanted to see what all the fuss was about” after noticing how Swift’s tour was promoted throughout the city. She then detailed nine things she “liked” about the show, starting with being “WOWED” to see the tens of thousands of people who showed up for the performance. “I instantly got goosebumps,” she shared.
Thompson explained how she could “feel like I was part of the community” by wearing borrowed friendship bracelets. She gushed over the “joy” of a family of three seated in front of her and said she’d also witnessed a Swiftie engagement, which caused her to cry “because it was so adorable and innocent.”
Thompson also offered praise to the “Cruel Summer” songstress, who she described as “a powerful woman,” “a very skilled musician and song writer” and “very fit.”
Many Swift fans did not react well to Thompson’s honesty about attending an Eras Tour show without being part of the Swiftie fandom.
“This makes me want to throw up. Some of my best and closest friends who have LOVED Taylor for almost 2 decades couldn’t get tickets but this person wanted cool insta pics 😭🤢,” one person on X, formerly Twitter, wrote.
