Simone Biles’ Husband Is on His Way to Paris to See Her Compete at Olympics: ‘Coming for You Baby’

Jonathan Owens is making it to Paris just in time.

As Simone Biles prepares for the gymnastics team final at the 2024 Olympics, her NFL player husband posted that he’s on his way to cheer her on.

Owens, 29, posted a photo from the plane as he waited to take off on Monday, July 29, showing him in cozy sweats with a pillow. “Coming for you baby 💙✈️,” he wrote on the Instagram Story.

Biles, 27, then reposted the picture, adding a few emojis of her own: “🤞🏾🤞🏾🥹🥹.”

Owens explained last Thursday that when he signed with the Chicago Bears this offseason, he negotiated time off from the team’s mandatory preseason practices to see Biles compete at the Olympics.

“Obviously the Olympics were coming up and you know who my wife is,” he told reporters after practice. “It was all respectful. We went to them and asked, ‘We’d really appreciate if he could go to support his wife.’ ”

“I can’t wait to be able to support her,” he continued. “It’s the person you love most, man, and you see them out there in a position where someone could get hurt and you care. I’m just holding my breath and I have my little piece of paper right there ready, calculating everything, so I can’t wait.”

Owens told PEOPLE earlier this month that he couldn’t wait to watch Biles go for gold again in Paris, which would also mark his first time in France.

“It’s super exciting just because I get a chance to see all the work that she puts in prior to, and you know what? Everything she goes through and dealing with the media and everything, and she still goes out there and does it,” the NFL star said.

“It’s just impressive and goes to her training mindset and consistency. That’s the biggest thing, is how consistent,” he continued.

Biles will aim for gold in the team competition Tuesday, July 30 alongside her fellow U.S. gymnasts, before preparing for the individual all-around competition on Thursday, Aug. 1, where her teammate and 2020 Olympic gold medalist Suni Lee will be looking for a repeat win.
